Matthew Muscat Inglott was in Ashington on April 28 for the Yorkshire & North East Counties Unequipped Powerlifting Championships where he took first place in the senior 82.5kg class.

After weighing in at 80.7 kgs Muscat Inglott went on to lift all his squat attempts of 165kgs, 175kgs, and finally, 180kgs. He missed his first Bench Press of 115kgs for not awaiting the referees "Press" signal, but proceeded to lift 120kgs and 130kgs in good form. For the Deadlift Muscat Inglott started with 200kgs and proceeded with his successful lifts of 220kgs, and finally 225kgs.

With a total of 535kgs, Muscat Inglott easily surpased the British National qualifying standard of 510kgs and has therefore earned his passage to the British National Unequipped Championships to be held on September 1-2.
